The Classic Albums Really Do Stand the Test of Time

posted on 8 January 2012

When I hear some classic tracks by the likes of The Jam, The Smiths and The Police, it makes me realise how much a band relies on a good producer to give them a unique signature sound. Stephen Street managed it with The Smiths very well. He gave them an earthy, stripped down sound, but also introduced some ambient effects (e.g. How Soon Is Now?) that gave some of the tracks a really haunting effect. A search for recording studios rome revealed a couple of studios near me I'm interested in visiting to lay down a couple of tracks with the help of a pro producer. I really want to see what's involved. My music isn't something that I think would work commercially, but I just want to see the production process firsthand and see what producers do to get that extra few drops out of a song - it will be a learning experience for me.

The reason for my sudden intelligence is partly out of online services

posted on 3 December 2011

Ever since I started using online services, I have benefited a lot and there is no doubt that I am becoming more and more intelligent. The issue to deal with information which has been placed here is nothing for me to complain about because I have benefited from it in one way or the other. I have heard people complain that they have not been assisted with the services that they have used online, which I find to be quite interesting, but then I guess that maybe this depends with the research that they are doing and the kind of information they are looking for. The other day I saw an online complain statements which had been posted that isbn lookup web service is not offering what is required from it and the researcher was infuriated with the service that he got. I guess it depends with what you need out of online services because there are some areas which have not been researched completely. As for me I have never missed to find what I am looking for, which is why I love online services.

My LinkedIn Experiences, Mostly Bad

posted on 23 November 2011

I became a member of the LinkedIn community over a year ago, to help me make new business connections. Each day for at least 2 hours per day, for more than 60 days I logged in,I posted information,I answered questions and participated in many different groups. I got absolutely nothing from this. I made contact after contact and spent countless hours trying to "network" to no avail. Sure, I could find many people advertising THEIR services - from corporate brochure design to web design, but I couldn't get a gig myself! I finally got so frustrated with it that I stopped trying and then after several months I finally deleted my account because I kept getting invitations from people who were just useless. I really thought that this would be a great place to make new connections. I thought it was much better than facebook and myspace because it was just a business community. I am not sure why it did not work for me or what I could have done to make it work. But the bottom line is this if I am going to spend hours working on something, I expect to get some kind of return for it and I did not.

People watch selective documentaries because they want to learn about something

posted on 7 September 2011

Not many people like watching documentaries. The people who do watch documentary are very selective they choose the kind of documentary that has contents that interest them. For example there are people who love motorcycles and these are the people who would literally pounce on a chance to go round the word with a group of buddies in their motorcycles. That is why this particular group of people will watch the documentary of ewan mcgregor and his best friend who is also an actor like ewan mcgregor, Charles Borrman. These two buddies met on the set of the movie, 'the serpent kiss'. For all the motorcycles lovers who get to watch the documentary of ewan mcgregor and Charles Borrman on 'long way round' will want to know what stimulated their choice of using the BMW R1150GS motorcycle. They will get to see the amazing speed of that particular motorcycle and this will not just be a documentary to them but an extension of their dreams that will definitely come to pass because they have the right kind of motivation n.

There is much that you can do as a celebrity

posted on 27 June 2011

If all the celebrities did not concentrate on making their names famous only but also help the poor and the less fortunate in the society, then the world could have become a better place for all of us. A celebrity like jackie chan is one example of those who have not only made it in the film and acting career but also worked on a charitable organization that takes care of the less fortunate in the society. The Dragon`s Heart Foundation is one of those which were specifically founded to help meet the desperate needs of helpless children and the elderly in the remote areas of China. This foundation has built schools and homes for the needy children and also provided for the elderly in terms of clothing, wheelchairs and many other items. Jackie is one of the founders and travels a lot to open these new institutions and give encouragement to those who have lost hope in life. It is good to have a heart that gives when you have received from the same society.

An Urban Art Form, a Symbol of Gangs, or a Sign of Immaturity?

posted on 7 January 2011

At first glance, it would be easy to write off graffiti as a sign of immaturity. People who contemplate for but a short moment in time before inscribing their initials (forever) onto a medium such as a bus seat, brick wall, or even tree bark, are clearly acting under the guise of youth. Upon deeper discovery, one might realize that some are proclaiming their love for others under a tree where they first met, onto the back of a bathroom door, even the back seat of a subway train. How is this different from gang symbols? It’s not. Not only that, but many people buy graffiit prints for their walls - that's surely art! Many times, peoeple are simply labeling what they love, claiming their territory as their own, and warning others not to harm what they hold dear. Does that mean that graffiti has now become the art form of urban preference? Possibly. Stone Mountain in Georgia has had people from the 1970’s through the new millennium carving their initials, names, dates, etc. into rocks. Even the cityscape in your hometown has improved with a few new murals. Whatever the motive, or clear passion for expression, graffiti is here to stay. I do ask you however, that the next time you choose to write your name, your friend’s name, or your artwork, just be mindful that there is a time and place for everything. Just because the building didn’t have an amazing architect, or the color was bland, does not mean that it is the optimum location for your newest can of spray. Select a canvas that won’t cost you’re neighbors thousands to fix!
