The Inevitable Clean Up After the Hedonistic House Party

posted on 13 December 2011

Have you ever looked at your house just after a house party that you had thrown? Well, I did exactly that one day and to be honest, I really did not like what I saw! Working in tank cleaning services didn't prepare me for what I saw. I must say parties are good, especially house parties, since your friends and family come along, and you have fun with loud music and variety of food and drinks. When you’re enjoying such kind of a party, you hardly think about how dirty your house is getting as people go ahead littering around as they have fun. You only realize all this after the party is over and also after most of the guests have left. Speaking from experience, after my guests left my house the following morning, I actually did not know where to start from in doing the cleaning! My house was as dirty as I had never seen it before. I first sat down trying to figure out what to do and where to start. Luckily enough, two of my friends came along and they offered to help me out. We started out cleaning the bedrooms, then the corridor and the living room finally the kitchen. Having finished cleaning the house, we went outside and the sight of my backyard was unbelievable! It so dirty that it took us close to 4 hours just to clean it completely! And that was the biggest cleaning I’ve ever done!

I Just Cannot Neglect My Garden Any Longer

posted on 24 October 2011

I have lived in this house for 6 months now and in that time I have been less than successful in creating anything in the corner of my yard I call my garden (complete with cute gnome holding a sign). Perhaps I am being to critical and harsh on myself. I don't fancy putting on my B-dry footwear and squelching around in the soggy patch that is my garden, though.

I did manage to feed at least 2 deer with something that waht groeing in my little dirt patch. I don't have the foggiest idea what it was because out local ravens are apparently fond of my plant markers and have stolen every single one of them. I had dreams of canning and freezing to my hearts content by summers end with plenty of fresh produce to spare to the delight of friends...but alas, I do in the end, have a freezer full. Full of bagged and boxed fruit, veggies and meals to last through the winter. Next year maybe, I'll buy a book, or a kit. But more than likely I'll just take another swing at my little dirt patch.

Renovations to My House, If I Had the Budget

posted on 5 October 2011

If the money were available to me, I would most definitely want to renovate my house to have a wraparound porch. This would be ideal as I have always wanted to have a place to sit in front of the main door to my house that wasn’t exactly in the dirt. In addition to the wraparound porch I would also like to install a sliding glass door in my master bedroom and have a fairly large balcony outside of it. If possible, my ideal would be to have the wraparound porch have a stair on one side of the house (probably the right) to go up to the balcony outside my master bedroom. I'd have light lemon-coloured curtains in the bedroom, with velcro fasteners. In addition, the balcony could be extended to be large enough for a nice table and a few chairs. To the inside of my house the only thing I would like would be to extend my basement a bit further.
