My friends and I planned a great weekend get-away just to catch up with each others lives and get away from the city. We are not particularly fond of engaging in physical or adventure-filled activities, we just want to relax and chat until dawn. I was in charge of finding the perfect place and I did, it was a huge log cabin in the countryside with a stone outdoor fireplace where we can barbecue, talk, and sip hot drinks all night while gazing at the moon and stars. I have been there once, alone, when I needed to finish a project and I was having a hard time concentrating in the city. The moment I told my friends and showed them pictures they were all excited and they cannot wait for the weekend to come. I am glad that I will have the opportunity to get a breather with the people that I love the most because I am already experiencing burnout from work. |

You’ve probably bought your new spice grinder and found how convenient it is to use in the kitchen. While you are happily grinding away you probably remembered that you forgot to ask the store clerk how to clean out the grinder after using it. Well basically, the spice grinder’s main feature is its rotary blades which you should take utmost care in cleaning. In some models, these blades can be detachable so you can easily wash them with a little soap and water then properly dry them up before reattaching.
With other spice grinders the blades is impossible to remove. You will need to use a small dry paint brush to clean away the residue of the spices that you just grounded. They you can use a soft wet paper towel or small cloth to wipe the grinding bowl clean. One thing you must remember that if your grinder has a plastic lid, avoid grinding cloves with it. Cloves leave an oil residue which is difficult to clean off a plastic cover. |

I have gone to houses that shout and scream safety hazard from afar. You will not find me living in such houses even if I got paid to do so, I would rather even spend a night in a shelter than such an unsafe house. Why am I saying this? If you go to a house that has old paint all over the walls, this paint is wearing or, and due to a leaking roof, the paint has started running and you can even get the scent of paint and if you are not careful, then you could get paint poisoning very easily. Another very dangerous thing that you will notice with unsafe houses, is the naked sockets that have not been protected by any protective insulation, people who live there have never even thought of hiring an electrician who can fix the sockets which can cause electric shock to people living there. It is hard to believe that there are people who live in such houses but they exist, Not everyone can afford an electrician or not even many people think they would need one. What they do not realize that even if they think that they are saving a lot of money by not maintaining the house, they are living in a very unsafe place and if they are not careful demise will follow them soon. |

Frozen pipes will lead to leaking pipes if not dealt properly. When your pipe leak and makes the inside of the house wet it will cause a very costly damage. The plumber has to replace a damage pipeline. If the damage pipe is inside the walls the plumber has to break into the wall order to take the pipe out if it is in the lawn he has to dig into you beautiful garden. Very annoying isn't it? Pipes freeze for many reasons which include the very cold weather during winter season.
Here are some tips to avoid frozen pipes. During night in a very cold weather, leave the faucets just a little open this is to allow water inside the pipeline moving. A still water is easily to frost that a moving water. When leaving the house or during the night when nobody will use the water faucet close your main pipe line and drain all the water in your pipe line in this way there is not water to freeze. Open the kitchen cabinet doors under sinks to allow the warm air inside the house to circulate to the pipes under the sink. Before winter season comes, call your local plumber and have your piping system insulated. |

Nowadays you can never really predict the weather and you cannot tell how long a snow storm will last. You can get stranded for days inside your house and still freeze to death if your home is not heated well enough. To make living indoors during the long winter months a lot more comfortable and warm you should have a lot of electric space heaters scattered around the house.
Some space heaters can warm up a large area in the room. But once you step out and close the door the heat just doesn’t seem to penetrate into the next room. Besides it will be such a hassle to keep transferring the heater from one room to the other. It would work better if you provided a heating unit in each room most especially if you have more than one bedroom in the house. This will keep everyone sleeping cozily thru the night. It is also a practical idea to have a back-up unit when one of the heaters malfunctions. |

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This popular adage seems to apply to many aspects of our daily life, and our electric system is certainly one of them. If nothing prevents us from turning on our lights, watching TV or working on our computers, why should we even think of checking our electric wires and circuits? To begin with, cutting down on potential electrician costs is a good reason. Even if your electric system appears to function properly, unexpected malfunctions can and do occur. At times, these problems need the immediate assistance of a qualified electrician, and as we all know, electrician costs in emergency situations are always high. To avoid unnecessary expenses, ask a professional electrician to conduct regular maintenance checks of your home or office electrical system, which basically means checking that all wires are in place, that there are no power loads in any of your outlets, and any other routine inspections could be useful to you. Granted, asking a contractor to carry out maintenance work also costs money – but wouldn't you rather pay the reasonable electrician costs per hour now, rather than the exceedingly high rates charged for emergency electrical jobs? Even if the system "ain't broke" doesn't mean it shouldn't be checked. |

If you are a business man or woman who is thinking of starting a hotel business, then there are somethings that you should put in to consideration. You should have an idea in what it is you want to specialize in, if you want to do gourmet, or if you want oriental dishes, whatever it is you decide on you should ensure that it goes hand in hand with the demand of the general public. There is nothing bad like putting up a restaurant that generally complements vegetarians at a place where the public prefers meat or the other way round. When it comes to decor, you should go for things that will be very easy for you to operate. you need to get furniture that you can be able to move with ease, or even carpets that are going to ease carpet cleaning. The best kind of carpet to go for is the carpet that have the needle effect. Such a carpet is not really absorbent and cleaning it is not a grave task. This is because such carpets are made of synthetic material and they are known to be very easy to clean. |

If you're tired of the usual varnished wood cabinets or the pre-fabricated ones that you can buy from the stores, then it is definitely time to start scouting for bathroom storage ideas somewhere else. Besides magazines and interior decorating publications, you can find plenty of storage ideas by looking at different websites.
The internet is a very rich source of ideas and suggestions for bathroom storage as well as other home improvement projects. Not only are there online stores which already offer articles and different information materials as to what kinds, styles, storage types will fit your needs and bathroom design, there are also different sites which feature innovative designs and trends which you may want to try out.
More importantly, there are websites which offer step by step guides to people who are adventurous enough to try creating their own storage systems with their own two hands. Surfing online saves you time, effort and widens your horizons in ways you never thought possible. |

I've opened a nice little Italian restaurant - complete with Gingham table covers, a map of Italy on the wall, and best of all, an authentic menu - with all the food bought, prepared, and served by my Italian team of workers.
My aim is to remain small and exclusive. I made the mistake last time of trying to scale up and I realised that it's a false economy - the bigger you get, the less personal the service, the less positive feedback you get. It's much easier to stay small and offer an excellent service - things are also much easier to control too. Ordering food and wine is quite straight forward. Also I realised that the menu should stay small too - don't offer too much - specialise in just a handful of dishes. You will be rewarded with repeat custom and recommendations. Take it from me - small is the new big. |

My house is one floor and I want to build one more floor. I have only worked as a labourer for a felt roofing company, so I'd certainly need to hire some builders to get the job done.
I also want to build a swimming pool in second floor. I want to build a prayer room and it should be near to my bedroom. I am also planning to increase the number of rooms, presently it is only 3 and i want to make it 5. Since there is enough land i can extend my home according to my budget. I need to change my house style by adding wallpapers instead of paintings. I need to change my small normal windows to big ones, that is some what like a door. I need to add more furniture's and want to add blinds and shades to windows. I also want to add wall arts so that it looks matching with wallpapers. I want to buy some expensive statues of animals and birds to fill my room corners. I also want to upgrade my lightning system by adding more expensive lights according to modern looks. |

I live in a very special old house that was built by my grandparents. Although unhandy in some aspects (such as no closets), there isn't much about it I would change. I love the old wooden gazebo in the backyard for example, even though it takes up a lot of space.
However, they once had plans to add a second story to the north addition, which I would like to do after the fact. This would give me another 160 square feet of floor space. I could have a music room and an arts and crafts room. Also, the cellar doesn't go under the entire house. I would like to dig out the part that is just a crawl space and create another basement room. This space could house the furnace and utilities or maybe even serve as a game room. Last but not least, I would do the necessary repairs to the front porch floor so that the carpet could be ripped out and replaced with hardwood. And this will happen, sooner rather than later. |

I love my family we are very close - VERY close. There are six of us and we live in a four bedroom house. It's protected by a cctv home security system which reassures us and makes us feel safe.
Of course, my husband and I share a room. Three of the kids have their own room, but the twins share. Other than that, our house has two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a garage that is full of junk. No matter which room I go into, there is always bound to be someone else. Even when I am in the bathroom, usually someone knocks or is waiting outside. If I could change one thing about our house, I would build a little room where I could go to be all alone every now and then. This would not need to be anything fancy. A simple space where I could read, meditate, or just relax would be great. All I would really need is a couch and a lamp. OH! And my room would need to have a hidden door so that the kids can't find me while I am in my little hide-away. |
