No Win, No Fee

If you want to make a claim for compensation, but are worried about finding the money to pay for the lawyer, then a no win, no fee lawyer could be for you. These lawyers will not charge you if they lose the case. This means that you will not have to pay out money if you get no compensation.

This can be a great thing. Because there is not much legal aid available for injury claims, it means that clients are normally expected to pay for the lawyers themselves. In order to do this, they will need some money. Once they have won compensation, then they will be in a position to pay the lawyer but if they do not win, they will not.

Before the lawyer goes ahead with working with you, they should discuss their terms and conditions. It is very important to look at these and make sure that you understand them. You need to be especially clear on how they will charge you. Most lawyers have a standard charging policy where they will take a percentage of your compensation. They make this very clear fro the beginning and they will even be able to tell you how compensation you are likely to receive. This means that you will have the figures to be able to calculate their probable fees at the start. This means that you will know exactly where you stand.

Do not ignore the cost of the lawyer. This could be a big amount of money and if you do not get awarded a big amount of compensation then it could take quite a chunk of your money. Make sure that you plan for this and do not spend your compensation before it arrives and then find that there is not enough to cover your expenses. Be aware of what is going on and sensible about it.
